rant

i think and i think and i think
and think
how will my life project itself?
am i in control of my surroundings or are my surroundings in control of me?
who do i accept and who do i reject?
who am i to judge you as more than or less than me
i don't feel like a child anymore
where my decisions are made for me
now it is up to me to make them
and make the right ones
and im scared
im overwhelmed
and im a little lost
i need a guide
something constant
but the only constant i know right now
is
change.

everything is changing around me
and im adapting
survival of the fittest
i am strong
and i will prevail
i will go and get what i want
that is... when i figure out what i want

i once landed the right job
the right friends
the right school
acceptance
cultural capital

i find myself in a new city
i once felt so special, so unique
and i feel like just a number
another person
another name another story

the playing field is large
and im trying to gain the right skills and tools

i find myself alone
some supporting characters
but no one is completely there
